    We treated ourselves to breakfast delivery to the room at 9am, as we were all up late because of the time difference of 2 hours. After packing up, we walked across the street to walk over the Waco Suspension Bridge which, when it was built in 1870, was the longest suspension bridge west of the Mississippi.     ... John and I have started our annual summer hiking excursions, and one of new adventures this year was exploring Mother Neff State Park in Moody, Texas. Although some of the hiking trails are currently closed, the ones that remain open are worthwhile and afford pleasant views of the Texas Hill Country.     This time was stressful and bittersweet. Saying goodbye to friends, family and coworkers is extremely difficult. I am not very good at it, either. I get emotional and teary-eyed, and since I tend towards ugly-crying, I shy away from public goodbyes and crying in public places.
