... to say.
ESR also participate in the police training both of CSI's and investigators. This close link works well for all parties involved.
They have also produced a really useful guide for investigators/CSI's in respect of crime scene processing. Along the lines of the FSS handbook but a4 size and much more comprehensive I must say.
Have a look at the ESR website for more details and also the NZ police have good information on their own website too.
... weather to do it in. Back out on Hwy. 2 south for an hour or so, we stopped in a little one-street town called Waipawa for lunch. Even a little town like this had a couple of upmarket cafes and some antique shops. Our cafe had it's own little garden growing herbs and lemons. These little towns vary from the seemingly affluent like Waipawa to some that have little more than a 'Hotel' (fancy name for a traditional pub) and are full of empty shops. One town just seemed to consist of ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand chris_calcite... of the glacier. We eventually made it back to the bus after a 5 hour adventure, and they gave us hot chocolate. When we did get back to the campsite we did however realise that our cameras had been swimming in a pool of water in the bag but luckily all our photos were ok just not the cameras.
We next drove up the coast stopping at a gorge with ice blue water and walked over the swing bridge it had crossing the water. We eventually stopped for the night in Greymouth at a ...
... near or over Masterton. My friends have declined, but will be waiting for me on the ground, cheering me on!
My primary activity today was finishing off a project started last night; the baking of Gruyere-stuffed Crusty Loaves. Mmmmm, cheese-stuffed bread in the form of rustic, crusty rounds. What could go better with our planned barbecue in wine country after a morning of tasting wine, developing a lovely tipsy glow?? I ...
... the next couple of days, Lambton Heights B&B which was up on the side of one of these hills but only a short walk from the centre of town. Unfortunately no one was home, so I locked the car and went off for an explore. A nice lunch of green lipped mussels and wheat beer at the Mac Brewery in the sunshine on the harbour was had and a quick call located the owners of the B&B who were themselves ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand hadwin... was kinda awkward small talk stuff, but it turned out to be really fun. Our two leaders were bobby and tommo. Tommo is maori and they are both really funny and nice. After we checked in at the hostel, we got lunch then went on a walking tour of Wellington. Our tour guide was this really old guy with hairy ears and he was kinda gross. But there was no doubt about it. He loved his job! It was a really good tour and we got to see everything. After ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand holiverius... the climate, the earth (volcanoes, bubbling mud and geysers), the people (mauri and immigrants) and the ocean and vegetation. It was fantastic, but huge, so only did a small bit and decided to go back the following day. Cooked in the evening (made a great spicy beef stew) and got chatting to more nice backpacking people, dringing wine, so ended up in bed a little late but hey ho, we are on holiday ;-} Easter Sunday we walked to the Botanical Gardens and took in ...

Then we went up the cable car, which wasnt quite what we expected, more a little train and not that high up! but we did it and walked back down thru the botanical gardens, also not what we expected, not half as nice as sydney or melbourne! Anyhoo! that was pretty much Wellington, hmmm...... yep thats it!!
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand latergators... We got to the airport at about 12.30pm so it's a good job we didn't set off any later. Got a quick sandwich at the airport and then it was time to board the plane. The flight wasn't very long so you just got a choice of crisps a biscuit or a packet of sweet flowed by a glass of water (thank god for the sandwich earlier). The weather was a bit wet and grey again when we got back ...
