      POUNDING BACK THE COFFEE

A travel blog entry by tezzatravels on Nov 06, 2014

Down at 0625 into a rainy Zurich. AC 869 is in the E gates. Going through security was a tad laborious but handled. Found the lounge readily enough. Not especially large but comfortable leather chairs. Same stupid wifi via a code. How dumb is Asia and Europe? Not only dumb codes but also time limits. Get with the program. Read a bit of news. Had had three coffees within the first hour. Ripped apart the two airline magazines from the last two flights ...

      Sunday - A baptism and a bonfire

There were two baptisms at Book Road this morning - Jesse Pipe (Beth's cousin) and his girlfriend from high school, Karen Workman. It was a beautiful morning, such a happy occasion for both the family and ecclesia having seen these two come such a long way. I got to meet quite a few young people today: Tali Snowbelen, Mark McPharlane, Amy Morgan, Jesse & Priscilla Adair, Nicki someone. I also got to speak to a few I'd met previously (Mel Hodge, Steve ...

The dreaded morning dawned.. Friday 13th too...
I was not looking forward to the drive out of the city, followed by 70Klms of 20K over the limit mayhem on the expressway to get to Hamilton / Dundas for Carolynn's Wet Canvas meet.

We had particularly come to this side of Canada specifically to meet up with her long time web friends, some she has regularly communicated with for up to 8 years.
It was a dream she has held ...

      A LONG FINAL DAY

... have time to stop for photo ops. I faced the spectre of defeat ie a cab ride back when I spied the unique roof of the Palacio Bellas Artes. Entering the lobby, Bruce and Donna were there. They got separated from everyone last night. After ten days, Donna, I would have thought you wouldn't have to ask me if I'm Jim or Terry. They make them dumb in Alberta.

Returning to the room, I heard the girls leaving for a very late morning coffee. Asked Lou if they had ...

... people hiding in the maze then when we got to the end there was a candy truck. You put your bag under the candy pipe and they pull a big leaver which fills your bag... literally. We ended up with 4 kg of Cadbury chocolate and lollies. We had Cadbury eggs, crunchies, and packets of lollies we've never seen before... but now we will be seeing a LOT of. SO MUCH CANDY!!! Gotta love living near a chocolate factory.
