    Getting to our ship was long and hot and we missed the buffet. We hadn't eaten since 6 am and then missed the buffet. We were starving and tired by the time dinner was served at 6:30.     ... north west of the grand canal and caught the boat along the entire length to the island of Lido. Venice was beautiful at night and while being surrounded by couples I found myself mostly wishing Nicole was there too. From Lido we caught the boat back to St Mark's and watched the dueling orchastras playing at the expensive cafés around.

    ... in Venice. We keep thinking that there is no way we will ever see anything as beautiful or full of history as the Vatican or Sistine Chapel but Piazza San Marco sure does come close! Seeing the famous clock tower (the red brick building with turquoise steeple), the square itself, and the Basilica di San Marco all surrounded by water is remarkable.
