    After our UN tour, we re-boarded the bus and made our way crosstown. It was getting near rush hour, so traffic was crazy. We decided to get off the bus and taxi to the hotel so we’d have time to get ready for our evening.

    Stopped in Alexandria for a night to stay with the grandparents, then headed up to New York, making a few stops along the way.
    I went to the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, which was a great collection and right by the George Washington Monument.
    I stopped and hiked at White Clay Creek State Park in Delaware.
    And lastly I stopped at Princeton, which as it turns out is made of castles.
    Now I'm in NYC for a few days hanging out with college ...

    So, with the work finished, it was off to New York to meet Tom.   I woke at 4 and got concerned because his phoine was still shown as being at Vine Cottage when he should have been on his way to Ashford.   Last night he had been concerned that his Mum was not up to coping and he thought he might have to drop out at the last minute, so I wondered if that had happened.   I gave it half an hour until the time he should have been just on the train at Ashford ...

    ... of the two buildings stood with a smaller hole in the centre of each. Water cascades down from the top across the base of the big hole to then fall into the second seemingly bottomless one. Around the edge of each memorial are the names of the people who lost their lives in the bombing in 1993 and the destruction of 2001. Their names are cut into the metal and on their birthday, the World Trade Centre Memorial trust place a white rose in their name. We saw 2 white roses today. ...
