... sore throat, and as I got up all my joints ached, though I felt a bit better once I got moving. We made a bee-line for the comfort of an air-conditioned shopping mall and thereby discovered "Palladium", which is a wholly unremarkable shopping mall except for its distinct lack of places to sit that aren't explicitly for a named cafe or restaurant. ... glaciers. The sun was beginning to set so we had to turn back since it is unsafe to drive on gravel roads at night, but the view with the glaciers and the sun setting was absolutely beautiful and worth the hours drive out there. The next morning we woke up early to head to Landmannalaugar to do our big hike. It took us 3 hrs on a gravel road to reach it and we had to stop at one point to let some sheep get herded up the small road. It had just snowed a week before we ...
