... 11.30 Prague Castle tour, as well as a ticket for a half day trip to Karlstein Castle that leaves at 9.30 tomorrow. These cost 1,680CZK for the pair. Had an hour or so to kill so I walked to the Jewish quarter which is between Old Town Square and the river and bought a 300CZK ticket to some of the sites. There were almost 120,000 Jews here before the Germans annexed Czechoslovakia in 1939. By the end of the war less than 10,000 were left alive. I took a walk through the old ...

To finish off the day we went up to visit Petrin Hill, which was full of tourists, so not quite my cup of tea but it was cool to get such a vast view of the city from the top. We finally finished off the day with gelato that we got from the store, right beside our hotel no less. (Seriously, we're trash.)

Fun day in Prague!

... the Jewish ghetto is the most expensive place live in all of Prague. Prague is called the city of 1000 spires because of all the churches but we learned that 89% of Czechs defined themselves as atheists. Now most of the churches are museums, concert halls and even night clubs. Finally, our tour took us to a concert hall near the river. We learned that during WW2 this was the headquarters of Heidrick, one of Hitler's right hand man. We learned of the botched assassination attempt on ...

We arrived in Dubai about 45 minutes early, which extended our transit time to well over 4 hours. It was nice to get a cup of decent coffee and walk around to stretch the legs after a long flight but there was a lot of waiting around. The flight from Dubai left on time and we duly arrived at Prague airport after about 6 hours. After completing the formalities we were met by our organised transfer and taken to ...
