... we arrived at the top, we got started on our snowboarding lesson with our instructor, Shae. This was his first season working there but he was very knowledgable, patient and enthusiastic! ... blind since all of the campgrounds listed in the Lonely Planet that we had checked out online were fully booked for the day we were going (we booked a spot for Wednesday but there were none one for Tuesday) and there were only a couple of walk-in grounds which do not require booking. Given the huge demand, you pretty much have to get there by 11 to guarantee a spot. We left Davis to embark on our 2-3 hour drive at around 1030 so things were not looking promising.
