... them, entire fences surrounding a home made from stacks of flat rock, and weathered buildings beaten by decades of salt air all add to the ambiance. Some of the buildings in the area are 400 years old or more, and it staggers the mind to think of all the lives and changes that they have seen in that time.

We are one week away! Everything is in order, and we are getting very excited! We've been following the two safari lodges we are going to stay at on social media, and they are posting some great pictures! I am, however, not very excited that when Jeff was taking to someone who just came back from that area on New Years mentioned how many black mambas there were. REALLY?? I knew there were snakes, bit that is not what I wanted to hear!! Until next ...

... intro lasted until we got to Newport, Rhode island where we stopped for a rest. I got a coffee, walked around the main street and then popped over to Yale to look around. There was only time to take a pictures or two and we had to get back on the coach. Up to the next stop we finished the intro and began speed dating, getting to know everyone. Lots of people and interesting stories, it was fun. Soon we arrived in Providence. ...

... learning some french during my summer when I had time, but all I can really say is "I'm lost" (je suis perdu), "I eat an apple" (Je mange une pomme) and "A black cat" (Un chat noir). I can thank Duolingo for teaching me that! Duolingo, the app that's always teaching me useless phrases that I will probably not have to use, but hey at least I can say "I'm lost." Though I probably should refrain myself from using "je suis perdu" because I don't think my mom wants a Taken 3 ...

Keeping up with Grandad

... the local bike path, it felt great to get all this exercise in, we will endeavour to keep it up! That evening, Grandad took us to Providence station once again, to catch a train to the airport. We had to spend the night there, not pleasant. Our flight was at 5:30, next stop Bogota, Colombia.
