Yesterday, we drove south to a small town called Tubac. It's the area of an old mission we visited last year. Hated to leave the Santa Catalinas
We felt badly leaving our last campground in the shadow of these magnificent mountains. We really enjoyed the area and hope to return soon. A good spot for one's list, in my opinion.

A different side of Tucson
... just so-so. The falls and rocky area at the end of the trail were quite nice and we sat for a bit to enjoy it and have a snack. The highlight was when we got to the bottom and were filling out a questionnaire with a US Forest Service Ranger. Another hiker came up and said he had just seen a gila monster a few hundred yards up the trail.
