Day 10

... I like about the well-ordered and efficient Swedes and add all my own idiosyncracies and present the world with a fabulous mix of just about of everything. And probably nobody would complain that much at all. I just wish all Swedes would be as generous and accommodating to all those with roots abroad, not just "nice" (read: Western) immigrants. In fact, I'm more convinced than ever that I should launch "Föreningen Osvensk Stämning" ...

... centre has been gentrified beyond repair, Hillsborough is more like the Sheffield I remember from the early to mid 90s.

I make my way to the indoor shopping centre for lunch, where I find a fantastic, old-fashioned greasy spoon caff called Shoppers Rest, which probably hasn't updated its menu since the 1970s. My southern/Swenglish accent makes me stick out like a sore thumb here but the staff are friendly ...

Managed to find an Only Fools and Horses T-shirt in the men's department, which is a welcome addition to my wardrobe and almost guaranteed to be unique in Sweden. As for the weekend, I'll be catching up with an old friend from uni, so it's going to be nostalgia overload, I ...

... what makes you beautiful came one and katie said it was for me and we danced to it! I had such a long talk with Katie's mum and we were both crying, she was just saying how much me being here meant to katie and that when she was getting ready she couldn't stop saying stuff about me. I'm hoping to extend my trip at the end so that I can go up and visit them ...
