Life on the ranch
... we finally got to Clearwater in Wells Gray park. Green is back! Had a night in the saloon - 4 beers later a very good sleep was had.
Day 2-
Got a relatively long lie in today, only had to get up at 8. Went out for a drive to Dawson waterfall which was pretty huge and impressive, and views in the park before going on a canoe trip around one of the lakes (Murtle Lake?). We stopped off on one of the beaches for lunch and a cheeky swim for the 3 of us who were brave enough. ...
Giddy up
... they would put on an extra trail ride at 5.30pm just for us, and they would give us a $20 discount each for us not getting back until late. We were all more than happy with this, and so Casey took the opportunity of a couple of hours spare to take us to one of his favourite waterfalls, Helmcken Falls, which was lovely. She had certainly enjoyed her week of carting 7-8 people around Vancouver and a break from having her back end loaded full of camping gear. Fortunately, everything slotted neatly back in place and we had the unenviable task of hugging and farewelling Ben, Fiona Lucas and Felix. As I have said a number of times, this was an amazing week and while we were excited to be ...
Mt Robson and Wells Gray
... the car after only 1.5 hours. The 4.5km hike was definitely worth it.
We dropped our couch surfer/tent sharer Julien off on the side of the highway to hitchhike his way to Banff in the rain with a sign that said Hawaii! He must have gotten a ride because he updated his facebook later that night. We meanwhile drove into Jasper to escape the rain and check our emails before we gathered our supplies for the short drive to Mt Robson. The ...
