I am particularly thankful to Dolly who deserved this trip, who left her full time job and while she didn't physically drive even one mile, she watched my driving like a hawk and reminded me of speed limits, things and people in the roadway, managed the maps and GPS and was a champ throughout. We came up to Boothbay via some of the little towns instead of on the interstate. Stopped in York at the Nubble Lighthouse, then drove down the beach road to go to Portland and Freeport. The beach is not anything like our beach, and there's a ton of seaweed that smells awful! We could smell it with the car windows closed! We had lunch at Becky's Diner in Portland. Lobster rolls were great! It's a little diner near downtown Portland, close to ...
... and put where its supposed to be, its close enough and we even have some room left - big shock to me.
During one of my trips to Rockland, I parked as close to the Atlantic Ocean as I could without getting the tires wet - and will do the same thing in northern California to show the Pacific. See photo.
