Riverside Palms B&B Durban

... in Durban is limited. Despite almost constant rain, I've enjoyed walking around the city a bit and visiting several small museums.

Tomorrow I'm heading up into the northern Drakensberg mountains, where I hope the weather will be good enough to hike and ride horseback over the next couple of days.

Well here I am again in Hillcrest. Spent the week, sorting through clothes to take down in to the valley to distribute amongst the orphans. They were distributed on Wednesday, it has been a variety of weather as well...really hot to quite cold......not sure why I am here early, but I learning to take each day as it comes...

... rest of the day (one of few shopping malls within the Durban area). Thanks to Johan's trusty GPS we managed to find our way... most of the time!

... impressed. Enoyed the beach seen in Durban. Many people were surfing on Sunday and there is a small market. I was really impressed by the sand sculptures shaped like African animals. They were huge and beautiful. The Marine World seems nice. I didn't pay to go in, but walked around the shops and restaurants and saw a group of local people performing a dance. You can dine with sharks (the restaurant is attached to the aquarium)!

23 July - Durban, South Africa Woke up at 5:00 for a 5:30 game drive departure. South Africa is really... white. Durban is dangerous at night and there
is a huge mall. They have blackouts every day for two hours at two in
the afternoon, and even the malls shut down.

I land in Durban SA Sunday evening. I have been traveling for nearly 24 hours.
