... and bought a corn dog at a fair which was on for 4th July. We'd arrived in town on the tail end of the big parade, and saw some of the floats and marching band, and some interesting vehicles. We chatted to a cowboy with a guitar who was waiting near the stage for his turn to perform. We didn't have time to wait to hear him, but he was nice and we ended up buying one of his DVDs for $5. ... Monument. You can't take your eyes off it. It is the most awesome spectacular sight I've seen so far. There is a paved walkway all around the base of the Tower, which is said to take up to 3 hours to walk. Had we been prepared, and had the time, it would have been an easy trek.

Next stop is Spearfish, S Dakota, where we will spend the night.

At Billings we drove to the Pictograph Cave State Park where there are more than 100 pictographs made by prehistoric people more than 4500 years ago.
