Sand, waves and fresh water ?

The waves broke over where we were and just a little bit of my pants got wet but not to worry - this was fresh water and the pants dried nicely. It was hard to get my head around the notion that water and sand do not mean salt water. It would have been good to come at a time when I could have swum in the water and experienced that activity. Something for the bucket list, maybe.

... Information centre at Shipshewana where there were a number of quilts on display. They also has some quilt block patterns painted on the building. Next door at the Yoder hardware and department store, more blocks were painted on the building. In the car park, next to where the cars were parked, there was a section with hitching rails where about 6 horses and buggies were tied up.

... people from college/freshman year, Ellen Valentine. She came over and we relaxed and caught up. Ellen is the kind of gem of a friend who I haven’t seen in several years, but when I see her it’s like no time had passed. What a pleasure. Later that evening we all piled into Jon’s car and rode downtown to enjoy the Pittsburgh symphony featuring a piece by Rachmoninoff. What a lovely time! ... appearance. It started to rain, so we headed out. Kelly was in the mood for Nachos, so we went to El Salto. Good margaritas, good service, mediocre nachos, good shrimp.
