... interior and it was all modern...I was wanting to see old town charm...tin ceilings dark wood, candles and romantic Italian feel and elegance..but NOT....it looked like a typical restaurant...

Oh well...So we were immediately seated and given menus. We also gave a drink orders, tea for Noel and I and Budweiser Draft for Tony..Tony and I ordered a flatbread veggie ...

... t in the backup described above. Altogether, a 5 hour drive took us 8 .5 hours.
Then, when we got to the hotel, we noticed that the ice chest was leaking water. Turns out the plug had not been put back in when we emptied out the water this morning. Had to practically unpack the van (not easy, since it was piled full of souvenirs) and put up the seat to dry it out.
Our worst day by far. But we are dry now, and full from a steak at Texas Roadhouse, so all is good again......

I'm so glad we've had opportunities to do this because I feel like it keeps us all sane. Sunday is Mother's Day and a day off, so John and I are going to take full advantage of that....sleeping in and watching movies is on our agenda!

The plan for today was to get up early, run through the corn maze, and get in the road in good time. But when I look out the window and can hardly see through the fog, I decide it's a good morning to roll over and go back to sleep. When I wake up next, the sun has finally broken through- we're in store for another beautiful day. As Randy get's us road-ready, I run down to the river to take some daylight photos. I have never seen so many perfectly ...

Took the truck in to have the oil changed and the emergency brake tightened up. Found out it had a rear seal and bearing that had gone bad. Took them 2 1/2 hours to get the bearing off as it had fused itself to the wheel shaft. But persistence paid off and they finally got it fixed. Oil change just cost me $342.00 - but glad I found out about it ...
