The state park is good, lots of trees. The fishing near the dam is weak, but your campsite is right on the river. I saw no fish in 2 days of fishing. Only saw 2 small, less than 8 inch rainbows caught. If I fish it again, it will be from a boat. I think there are lots of fish in the river but you need a way to ...

Drove a ways down Hwy-14 past Yellville and Ralph toward a restaurant on the Buffalo River that the girl in the visitor center told us about; decided it was too far. Headed back to Harrison.

We're both getting better at waking up early (when John was working all those years in coffeehouses, he was getting up at least a couple of hours earlier than now) but it felt so good to sleep until sun was streaming in our windows. I guess John had a heart attack about that and thought ...

Mountain Home - 2013 blog entry

As we drove up to the lot here in Mountain Home, John noticed that there's a giant library right up the street from our lot. We’d had no idea it was there last year or else I would have definitely visited it as often as I could for wi-fi and to be surrounded by books. I made up for it today by spending a good solid two hours there though I wanted to stay much longer. I need ...

About 4:00 we return for our final attempt to trick the fish onto our bait. Our spot is taken again so we don't have much luck til they leave. We see trout everywhere but they only seem to bite in a small area. We finish about 7:00 with the following totals: Kathleen 9 trout, Ron 14, and Ray 21. Actually we had to quit because the cooler ...
