Phil's birthday in San Marcos. We set up at Pecan Park and had dinner with cake at a Mexican restaurant. On Thursday, we went to Boerne and visited with the Allens. That evening we had dinner in San Marcos at Cody's (disappointing).

After breakfast we walked southward about 8 blocks past the massive red stone city hall and past the 18th C cathedral to Market Square. We had understood that there may be an art fair there, but it turned out to be a couple of blocks of market galleries in the old Mexican style. Outside, due to the fiesta, were food booths galore serving all kinds ...

... copied the directions from Google maps. However, the map we were using was not for the hotel, but how to get to downtown New Braufels. I drive, my navigator gives directions. As we entered a traffic circle, Dianna says, "turn left at the second spur". I had no clue, we laughed as there was no way any hotel was in this area anyway. After a few turns and turnarounds we found our home.

A good day.
