Poppiano is a small community close to our villa.
There is a very large castle, where people live.
It is a wine making community. There are solar panels on the hillside and the wine making vats are very well hidden so as to not disrupt the beautiful landscape.

Our final stop before heading home was the city of Siena, they tell you in the guide books to not drive into Siena because driving is a liabilty being the wise individual that I am I didn't listen. Well it is with good reason they give that piece of advice, what a zoo!

... a huge scalloped sloping piazza with again a maze of lanes leading to it. Soaring 102 metres above it is a high tower. In July and August all the outside tables and chairs are removed from the perimeter of the piazza for the horse races called the Palio where they ride bareback. Sat at some tables in the square and had a coke and Mum and Nath had coffee.So sick of paying 4 - 5 euros for 1 glass ...
