So things are falling into place as expected. I expect my next update will be once we are underway.

We all decided that today we would not ski. It is so early in the season and we were tired from the past two days, so we had a big walk on some of the trails around the village and in general just enjoyed being together as a family. The time is so precious when family members live on opposite sides of the continent.

... experience that was! We had lunch over there and I decided to call it a day since I had wiped out and didn't want to push my luck. Blaze was happy to see me back at the condo. We spent the evening together walking around the village admiring the lights and just experiencing the place.

Whistler was a big part of my Canadian experience as I wanted to be a volunteer at krankworx! Now crank worx is a huge downhill, freeride and slalom competition and lasts for around 8 days and it's all situated around the whistler bike park. So I arrive in whistler via the greyhound bus and the place is a wash with downhill bikes and full face helmets basically bike heaven!!!! I wanted to be on the mountain so I signed up for sport crew which is basically a Marshall, the good thing ...

However, while peddling my half hour on a stationary bike at the gym, I keep reading about these negative events occurring almost on a daily basis and it is hard to ignore in my blogging. ... having to lean to prevent being tipped upside down, was fantastic. At the top of the hill we stopped to give the dogs a break and for the chance to strap on some snow-shoes and have a short walk to some nearby waterfalls. They really looked beautiful surrounded by deep snow and this was worth the trip alone. The journey back down the hill was much faster, the sled leaving the ground a couple of times as we held on to each other for grim death ...

... with the mountains continuing on as far as you could see, which was a hell of a long way today. With only a day in hand to spend on the slopes here I made the most of it skiing for around 6-7 hours straight which by the end of the day my spirit was still willing to continue but my legs gave me a clear 'screw you!' in reply as I dunked it once more on the way down. Even more glad of that powdered snow now. So an expensive day. A long day. A tiring day. A totally awesome day!
