    ... br> We checked into our hotel and were assisted by an extremely friendly man who I think is the owner of the hotel. He insisted on carrying our mega suitcase up a few flights of stairs for us.

    ... of the Belgian independence in 1880. Only the side exhibitions were finished by that time and the central arch (modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris) was finished in 1905. The exhibitions run in a large semi-circle from the arch, large columns all the way across. It’s quite a grand structure.
