We boarded the barge after a 15 minute walk from the Mechelen train station. Our 1st day is a day outing in Brussels, I guess we get to see some of the sites we did not get to. 14 people are on this trip, some Aussies, some Italians and us (Americans, party of 6). This morning we woke up nice and early after an interesting sleep (we were both waking up throughout the night because of the jet lag), had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel and then took a taxi to the Dover P&O Ferry terminal. When we arrived we were told that we could take the earlier ferry, which was great as we were really early for our reserved ferry. We decided in the end that none were really that appealing so we concluded that it was best to leave the diamonds in Antwerp.
