We boarded the barge after a 15 minute walk from the Mechelen train station. Our 1st day is a day outing in Brussels, I guess we get to see some of the sites we did not get to. 14 people are on this trip, some Aussies, some Italians and us (Americans, party of 6). We went site seeing the town centre and climbed a 538 stair cathedral tower to take some photos over the town. Back on the barge, we are getting ready for supper and the evenings ...

... entered wanted us to bargain for a ring neither of us liked that much. Many shops also have locked doors and you have to ring a bell to enter. We decided in the end that none were really that appealing so we concluded that it was best to leave the diamonds in Antwerp. They were heavily crusted with diamonds – almost over the top or the opposite, extremely small.

... Although there was no hug or even kiss as the tradional way, I still could feel how they felt happy when seeing me. We went home straightway for a quick lunch as I needed to head to the town to sort out some things, quick, easy but various food as always.

... other night. Since it was early afternoon, there wasn't much of a crowd so we sat at the bar and talked to the bartenders... we ended up getting 2-3 free beers out of that haha.
