The fact that they smiled, laughed, spun stories about their lives before retirement, picked up litter and returned lost kids to their handlers failed to alter Rancid’s perception one bit - this group could be dangerous, especially since some of them were honorably discharged military veterans. A lot of those guys are crazy. Rancid never served in the military but he did achieve second class status in the boy scouts.

14th: Hiking the Grand Canyon. We had to leave camp by 5.30am this morning to be able to complete one of the walks before the sun gets too hot. The expected temperature is 104 F at the bottom, the lower you go the warmer it gets. We have elected to do the hike to Cedar Creek which is a 3 mile round trip.
