    ... good bloom now, and are quite impressive. The blossoms show at the top of this towering cactus.They are white with a yellow center. A photo will be showing up on flickr in a day or two, among others, when I get them edited.

    In the evening, the full moon rose invitingly over the mountains in the near distance. Later in the night, the eclipse happened, but we didn't catch it this time.

    The WiFi is only good by a hotspot at the laundry center. And since it was time wash a couple of loads I can get caught up with recording our days activities.     14th: Hiking the Grand Canyon. We had to leave camp by 5.30am this morning to be able to complete one of the walks before the sun gets too hot. The expected temperature is 104 F at the bottom, the lower you go the warmer it gets. We have elected to do the hike to Cedar Creek which is a 3 mile round trip.     ... had done the climb before but it looked very tricky to me.. It was three hours of fun and exercise and so glad we managed most of it..

    bearings on the surrounding area..and shopping for food while trying to source english style ingredients for our xmas lunch, I had promised to cook for the four of us..sausages, bacon and mincemeat proving the hardest to find..
