        ... The north rim is much quieter and peaceful than the south rim, with less visitors and a more natural environment. Only a couple of viewpoints were crowded and not a lot of people once you are on the trails. The nighttime weather was cool, since it was Sept., but daytime temps were great for hiking. and the scenery and foliage were spectacular.

        No doubt the serenity, calmness and view are very nice in grand canyon national park. ...

The fact that they smiled, laughed, spun stories about their lives before retirement, picked up litter and returned lost kids to their handlers failed to alter Rancid’s perception one bit - this group could be dangerous, especially since some of them were honorably discharged military veterans. A lot of those guys are crazy. Rancid never served in the military but he did achieve second class status in the boy scouts.

        Weather still isn't great everyone keeps telling us it never rains down here! It is supposed to be nice tomorrow. Spent the morning walking around town, there was an art festival happening in town. Drove into Glendale for a Coyotes hockey game and hit the outlet mall again before the game.         14th: Hiking the Grand Canyon. We had to leave camp by 5.30am this morning to be able to complete one of the walks before the sun gets too hot. The expected temperature is 104 F at the bottom, the lower you go the warmer it gets. We have elected to do the hike to Cedar Creek which is a 3 mile round trip.
