... to see a couple of waterfalls until we came to the Flume gorge in the Franconia park. It was a stuuning series of waterfalls that cascaded down through a deep granite gorge. Today began with a ferry ride from Plattsburgh across to Grand Isle. They use ice breakers to clear a little path across the river all year round to allow the ferry to get through. It's more like a barge really and reminded me a lot of the barge we used to catch across to Fraser Island.
