... hear out here is the occasional moo of the cows in the pasture across the road from us. The short ride was very beautiful. ... at Robinson park. Laura is still in the inflatable cast and so we put together the Sea Eagle kayak and took one of our smaller one man kayaks for Jerry.
It was a great day and we had found a good place to hold the boat steady to allow safe entry cast and all! Paddled across the river to the side with very little settlement and then crossed back over and headed back home.
Nice place to be.
Once you leave the Texas Hill Country of central
Texas the terrain is the flat High Plains which is great farm land but
not very scenic.
We drove on and were getting stiff and tired so we decided to stop for lunch with the aliens in Roswell! Parked in the Goodwill parking lot and walked several blocks past a flying saucer and aliens driving a covered wagon to ...
... miles outside of Llano.
They are really a treat to watch.
They were taking turns carrying in nest building materials.
Later will be the real treat: watching the young ones trying to get up their courage to fly!
Made it in to Austin and continued with our errands getting everything ready.
Decided to spend the night in our camper at glorious McKinney Falls State Park. So peaceful.
Spent Monday morning doing some work. No rain yet but kind of cold. Ride bikes to the Pacific War Museum. Admiral Nimitz was born in Fredericksburg and this is the only museum dedicated to the Pacific War. Amazing place. After three hours, we got hungry and took a break for lunch. Great Mexican food (will find this name too) and a couple margs later and back to the museum to see ...
