Heading North our 4 hour car journey had us in Delaware, Ohio - a quaint small town with charm founded in 1808. Full of art and antique shops, the architecture mostly influenced by Italian and Greek , all built in the early 1800's. Streets lined with old trees with 3 and 4 story homes all dating from the same era .

... way South from Lexington- a 90 trip by car for the weekend to the houseboat belonging to Junior and Debbie (the couple with whom we have a car arrangement while were in USA). Their houseboat - 80ft of luxury on the water.
Laurel Lake with its cliff lined shores and quiet coves was our destination. People go to boat, fish, swim, scuba dive and relax on their houseboats at Holly Bay Marina on Laurel Lake; one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Kentucky. ...

... and the place where the Colonel put together his secret eleven herbs and spices. Julie was rather excited, leaving her door unlocked and almost falling over on the way into the place. There is a mini-museum there and we got a crispy strip each to celebrate our lucky stumble onto this piece of food history.

... play some catch. Jodi of corse took pictures. By 3:00 pm, we were ready to just stop and get out of the car. We decided we would head for London, Kentucky for the night. Long day of driving - 442 miles, about 7.5 hours.

We stay at this park usually on our way back home. It's comfortable, easy access, and good hookups. It is connected with a company that brings in live country entertainers throughout the year. We keep hoping we will be there when something is scheduled but have missed it so far.

Good nights sleep then on the road ...
