Gatlinburg Vacation Day 1 We started off around 10:00 am for Jackson to get Kaleb. After picking him up we headed south for either Tennessee or somewhere close. Long day of driving - 442 miles, about 7.5 hours.

We stay at this park usually on our way back home. It's comfortable, easy access, and good hookups. It is connected with a company that brings in live country entertainers throughout the year. We keep hoping we will be there when something is scheduled but have missed it so far.

... in Yosemite Valley. We walked along several of the trails and saw the famous Upper and Lower water falls. It was the first waterfall I've seen (Niagra doesn't count...that is just ridiculous!!) so I was very impressed. We were on our way to one trail when we heard a giant crack. I thought it was an explosive or fireworks until I looked up and saw a massive rock slide. It was thunderous there was rocks and dust everywhere. Magnificent but deadly. Went on for ...

Woke up this morning to 22 degrees and clear. Yesterday it snowed on and off all day although it never did stick to the ground. Now we have officially reached the coldest weather we will probably see on our trip. Love our down comforters.
