    ... but now has been thoroughly gentrified.

    On the way there, we stopped off at Christ Church Cathedral for a moment of quiet and meditation. A haven of peace and tranquility in the heart of a beautiful city.

    Now after a quick dip in the pool and a satisfying stint in the sauna, we are settling down to our favourite meal of pain, vin, et Boursin, and various other delicacies to round out our hotel room picnic.

    ... back in credit in the satisfaction stakes, we walked back over to the harbour (the taxis had stopped for the night), across the Blue Bridge (a very imposing industrial bridge painted very blue, hence the name), which delivered us straight into the arms of The Swan pub, which was playing live music and is a brewpub!     ... first time I was disappointed with the itinerary. Today we were headed to Butchart Gardens to look at flowers and to have high tea. Or, this was how the day was described to me in advance. In the future, I'd recommend selling it to the men on the trip as "a nature hike followed by lunch." Luckily my preconceptions about the day were wrong.

    ... good, with all our favorites, like Mr Lincoln, Princess Elizabeth etc. the perfume was also very memorable, lots of varieties and everything so healthy. Also an amazing sunken garden, that was originally a Quarry, and a cement works. Lots of Begonias, Fuchsias, stocks, Sweet-peas and Geraniums. We even saw a couple of Hummingbirds but they were too quick for a photo.

    - Saanich Fair: In September the Saanich fair is in town. Go and see wildlife such as Alpacas, entertainment such as singing and dancing, great foods, rides, and fair prizes.
