... up, so instead of a fun drive through the mountains it was an agonizing crawl behind motor homes and dump trucks. I think there were at least five construction sites where we had to stop and wait for a lead car to guide us through. Then I made a wrong turn, which cost me another ten minutes. ... the outdoor shower (aka the poor-man's jacuzzi). There've also been projects to do, including a refurb of the owl- house. A little way North one gets to the outskirts of Giant Redwood land and only a little way inland is wine country. While less rural than Tomales, there's still a gentle feel about all these places and they're full of local colour.....and a dress code that hasn't changed since the Summer of Love. Good grocery stores ...

... one town ends and the next begins. To me, its not about wine. Its about vibe. The vibe will eventually change as the money, which is moving in quickly and steadily, begins to force the hippies out. As rents rise, the locals are displaced and soon, the metaphorical tofu will be much less plentiful. Thats a sad thought indeed.

So when you travel thru NorCal's beautiful wine country, please be sure to take in the hippie vibe as well. Its a lovely place and your soul ...

... not much of a wine drinker) but Marge likes the stuff, bought a few bottles for her to share with her sisters. So we got home, and was all set for Hambuger helper (love it) and was invited to go to downtown Sonoma to a pizza place, the food was great and the town of Sonoma was really a nice place to visit, lots of old building and a couple town squares. ... solar panels. Go Green! On the other hand, the wine tasted gross, but that is not because it IS gross, but because I don't like wine.
Next we crossed the road to Cline Winery. They are somehow related to the Jacuzzis. This winery had a different look. There was an old missionary building made of adobe which was neat and they also had donkeys and a big pond with turtles. Of course, these features interested me more than the ...
