    Upstairs 0500 and on the road by 0600, heading to Cape Spear to the lighthouse. Still overcast and misting rain. The lighthouse is actually two, and the view is spectacular! There are also some WWII bunkers there with two of the cannons still in place. Really neat! Some of the other folks there said they thought they saw a whale, but I couldn't find it. Headed to St. John's to Mile 1 Harley-Davidson. ...

    ... park and had some weirdo hanging out of his car just staring at me right in the eyes. I stared back and he just winked, bit unnerving. Luckily he disappeared. Quickly ate in the shop and got back before the rain started. Greased the chain and jumped in the tent to read some of my book.     ... and many times today, we felt like we were driving on Chemical Road from South River, Ontario out to the hunt camp and our cottage. We saw thousands of lines of large plastic barrels in the bays and couldn't figure out what kind of fishing was going on in this area. Turns out that these barrels are all part of large mussel farms.
