... to walk along to see if the marmots were there, whereupon Miles pointed out a large herd of elk which were grazing and sleeping on the other side of the path . They were admittedly a little further away but I'm not sure how we hadn't spotted them! He was very proud of himself.

The marmots too were not really up to standard today - a long way off and too busy to pose ...

When we were driving home after dinner, there was a black bear on some rocks on the side of the road downtown! Finally we saw a wild bear. Then we came home and relaxed and I'm blogging. We stayed a week in Loveland at the foot of the Rocky Mts. It's a nice community and we enjoyed exploring. We went to Fort Collins one day, a college town with lots of fun things to see. We also took a couple of drives up to RMNP to visit friends David & Shirley who are working at the YMCA for the summer, and to take a hike around Bear Lake.

The next week we stayed at Elk Meadows RV resort taking in the views of Long's Peak and doing some serious hiking in the park.

We won't actually start writing the lesson plans until Friday so I guess I'll have a handle on all of this by then. Tonight is Lisa and Celeste's last night so they chose dinner at Yellow Deli. Great choice. It's a very peaceful, hippy kind of place and the food was amazing. Everything is organic and fresh here. I'm ...
