    ... meal at Cafe Normandie (fresh sardines grilled followed by steak frites) in front of a roaring fire. Finally, we checked into the Sheraton BWI where we will spend the night before our 6 AM flight to Miami. (American Airlines cancelled the later flight we had booked originally.) I am always nervous about making these very early flights-but often there is no other choice.

    ... to the rural areas of Virginia we just left. Patapsco State Park is only about 8 miles from downtown. Somehow, the founding fathers of Baltimore, were smart enough to set aside 16k acres for this truly magnificent park. We only got to enjoy a fraction of what is available. I want to go back someday.
