... phone cannot be traced, so Derek heads to the police station where he finds out that the police know all about this gang and he returns with a brochure warning about pick pockets in Paris!
Replacing the phone will not a problem we have travel insurance, but I feel vulnerable, someone has my phone with my personal information on it.

... got up early to get in line to climb the Eiffel tower. good thing we did because the line got super long later in the day. it was a beautiful sunny morning. we had to climb 700 steps to the second level of the Eiffel tower and then take an elevator to the top. the view from the top was amazing. you could see the entire city. after we walked around on each of the levels we headed down to take pictures in front of it. afterwards we got some crepes and headed over to notre dame. ...

... ground because I thought for sure someone is getting shot but then we saw the police just chasing these guys away from the tower. Apparently its illegal for people to sell souvenirs underneath the Eiffel Tower and there were about 50 guys selling things so when they ran away I thought something bad was going to happen but everything was fine. We walked around a bit taking pictures and then we saw some young French army men walking around with these huge machine guns. I asked ...

... dessert we had a French pastrie called Macarons (spelling?). After dinner we had some very tasty coffee with Sylvie and Thierry and then went to bed.

We woke up on the 19th to about 9 inches of snow on the ground. Saint-Germain is absolutely breathtaking covered in snow! The incredible abundance of snow did not stop CJ from going for a run or myself from going for a walk and taking pictures.
