Historical Traveler Reviews Pueblo Bonito Bed & Breakfast Inn Santa Fe

Not as close as they make it look...

from anonymous

The Pueblo Bonito lives up to its name, the innkeepers are very nice, and it is charming with its kiva fireplaces and tile floors - however, my husband has a disability and the map on their webpage made it look like it was only 2 1/2 blocks from the Plaza, but it is several blocks away - the owner says a "5 minute walk" but it is really more like a 10 minute walk for a healthy person. If you have difficulty walking, and want to get out on foot around the Plaza without having to drive, consider staying closer. If you are a walker, no problem!

Also, don't assume just because the room has a "kitchen" that it will be complete - ours had a sink and a table and that's it. No fridge (not even a mini), nothing to cook with (not even a microwave) and no coffeemaker, either. I mention these three things as they are often in regular hotel rooms and with a "kitchen" I was kind of assuming... other rooms do have fridges, though, so ask first.

Pueblo Bonito will meet your needs

from MNTraveller1

My husband and I spent a few days in Santa Fe recently, and stayed at the Pueblo Bonito B & B. It's very conveniently located, right near the capitol, within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Santa Fe is an easy drive to all kinds of recreation, and we did not feel the lack of a "resort" experience at all.

The unit we had was actually three separate rooms-- a full kitchen, one bedroom/bath, and a living room with queen futon and small kiva fireplace. It was quiet enough for afternoon naps.

Breakfast in the lounge area is nothing special, (the usual hot beverages, cereal, breads and fruit) but plentiful and certainly adequate. Every afternoon you get tea, cheap white wine and margaritas. Again, nothing fancy, but a nice extra. The hot tub is certainly hot! Bring a swim suit, robe and sandals-- you will have to straggle across the parking lot to get there.

The decor is rather worn, and don't expect too much in the way of amenities-- only two bath towels supplied, and no hair drier. Kitchen has some cookware, refrigerator and stove, a microwave and coffee maker, but no wine glasses, dish soap or paper towels. You will need some supplies if you plan to cook.

Overall, because of the location and good price on rooms, Pueblo Bonito is a very good value. The innkeepers are friendly and helpful. If you aren't expecting anything too fancy or stylish, you will enjoy your stay. We did!

Great place to stay in Santa Fe

from anonymous

Spent three days at the inn during mid-November. The room was great and the owners and staff very helpful. The manager, Bill, was especially good in pointing out places to visit in the surrounding area and excellent places to eat. Any time we visit Santa Fe we will stay here.

Could Live Here

What a fantastic place! Everything was wonderful, from the kiva fireplace to the little kitchen to the great beds. Perfect location-I cannot wait to come back!

Loved Pueblo Bonito!

Employees and owner were very friendly, our room was very nice and clean, the breakfast spread was fantastic. I'd recommend Pueblo Bonito to everyone.

A+ for Ambiance, Character and Charm!

from Brown

We had an awesome time in Santa Fe and what made it really special is where we stayed. Pueblo Bonito made our vacation come alive! Our room was full of old Santa Fe charm and character! We felt like we were back in the old west! We had a corner fireplace, beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, private bath, and lots of authentic southwest appeal. We had read an article about Santa Fe and Pueblo Bonito B&B in Sunset Magazine and decided to make them our vacation destination. I'm glad we did. We had a great time, met some really nice folks and will make sure we go back soon.

Charming adobe B&B in a great location

from skistopalms

Wonderful location just an easy stroll (about 4 or 5 blocks) from the main plaza area of Santa Fe. Our room was cute and cozy with a very comfortable bed, a fireplace (which we didn't know wasn't useable in summer), small frig., and spacious bath. The staff was friendly and full of recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and set with care, but it was heavy on white flour products like bagels, coffee cake, and sugared cereals. Personally, I would have appreciated a few more healthful choices. But Pueblo Bonito has so much charm, and it's such a good value, we'd happily stay there again.

Affordable Summer Get Away

from NativeNM

Great Location! Easy to walk everywhere downtown. Great Staff! Very Friendly and informative. Great tips on places to go to eat, see and experience! Wonderful Atmosphere- very welcoming and non-intrusive. Loved the afternoon margaritas and quiet grounds. We are completely invigorated from our quick summer get a way to Santa Fe. Thanks Pueblo Bonito- I had a delightful time and will definately be back! I also appreciate the reasonable rates for being located in downtown!

Loved the cnchantment of the beautiful rooms

from anonymous

Our stay at Pueblo Bonito was one of the best travel experiences we have seen. We say this with the pleasure of having been to all 48 of the contiguous statesand really have something to compare with. While the town of Santa Fe is full of things to do, you always have to come back to a room to rest and recharge. With Pueblo Bonito the atmosphere is so very relaxing and like home with Herb, Amy and Staff making the environment one of family togetherness. They really make you feel welcome and like you are family. While we will continue to see the U.S. and Europe, we will make many more trips to Pueblo Bonito.

Loved the Location

from anonymous

This is a very old fashioned and homey adobe bed and breakfast. We are 50ish and did not have a bit of a problem walking to the plaza, local restaurants and to the Farmer's Market and train station. It is not a fancy B&B but the grounds were pretty, nice places to sit outside, etc.

You could imagine what it might have been like years ago. It was very charming. We just loved the privacy. The room was clean and the innkeepers helpful with directions, etc. The rates were an absolute bargain. It was a really welcoming homey place to come home to after a day of adventure either in Santa Fe or in the surrounding area. We would stay there again. We much preferred staying there rather than staying directly in the noisy plaza area.
