... Martin Luther, Roosevelt, and Jefferson Memorials all in one big loop. This took us the best part of the morning and afternoon to get round all the sights but with a lot to see we didn't want to miss anything out. My favourite would have to be the Lincoln Memorial, bigger than I expected, but the building it inhabits is am axing and looks over the large strip of water onto Monument and a The Capitol, a perfect photo opportunity. We walked around it, hoping to get a glimpse of Michelle Obama in her garden or something, but just ended up visiting a protest that was happening on the other side. Nuclear warfare in Syria is a big issue here.

We checked out the rest of the buildings around "downtown D.C." before deciding to head to the zoo. It is a Smithsonian, so it was free to get in. Sounds good to me!

What a contrast! Woke up to rain, rain, rain. Totally different to yesterdays beautiful weather.
