    ... cockerels, strutting their stuff, giant rabbits, a duck and a goose, a couple of snakes and some lovely Jersey cows having their tails back combed, their hooves pedicured and their fur hair dried and sprayed to perfection! Lots of different vegetables too - cucumelons (a new one on us!), black tomatoes and double tone squash. Who knew a country show could be quite so much fun!! ...

    A casual start to the day drove into the port and wandered around the shops and pick up some supplies for lunch and dinner, the girls went for a stroll in the afternoon and I stayed at the house and kept an eye on the kids.

    Up at 5.30 am this morning early start to catch the ferry to Guernsey. We hump the bags about a kilometre to the terminal and check in for our trip across the channel to Guernsey.

    After a not very good start with an hours delay sitting on the plane waiting for a 49 minute flight, St Helier was a welcome sight! We landed with a big bump and full reverse thrust which was good given the short runway and drop off at the end! On our first afternoon, the huge tidal range (up to 12 metres, though currently only 4 metres) was quite evident with most boats lying on their sides or exposed stilts and lots of exposed rocks and sand. ...
