      ... so the effect was like ice.

      Other attractions were like the neolithic burial mound closed for the season. The shopping area was vibrant and busy and we overheard people talking about the change in weather. Only days before people had been swimming in the sea.

      ... the harbour wall and then along the promenade. It was beautiful with good views of the castle and village. Another interesting walker was a lady with a huge long haired black dog, almost the size of a Shetland pony.
      Then the bus back to collect the cases, a walk into town, the bus to the airport and here we are waiting to board our plane back to everyday life again, but with ideas of where we think we are going next.

      After an early breakfast and walk into town, almost getting caught up I the Jersey Marathon, we caught the 23 bus to the wildlife park. We started with coffee and entered the park. The first enclosure was for Andean bears, a large male and smaller female. She bats him when she gets bored and lands up with retaliating scratches on her chest!       ... There were tables and benches on the beach where they brought our food, an amazing green Thai fish curry, crab spring rolls and spicy chicken noodle dish. All lovely with a setting sun to top it off. To end the day we walked along the promenade to a hotel where we had a glass of red wine outside looking at the full moon.on the water. A good start to our stay in Jersey.

      ... have been raised to the ground and rebuilt to accommodate the ever increasing influx of tourists. Some of the restaurants, happily, are still being run by the Portuguese families who started them. When the Euro came into force in 2002, local developers seemed to start building with a vengeance. Villas began to erupt amongst the pine trees in the area surrounding Vale do Lobo. Will the building ever finish in Val do Lobo? I can’t say. There is always something new ...
