... using their carts far too much, which cause noise and you need to make way for them on the paths. My favourite animals were the elephant nosed shrew, the black and white animal, the prairie dogs and the monkey that had an old man face. The baby orang-utan was also very cute. Some of the ways the animals were displayed was awesome. You would walk along paths and the animals were right there in what looked like natural habitat. Often there were no bars. ... on the flight to Omaha due to supposedly bumpy flight (it wasn't that bad). It's definitely cooler in Omaha, with the temp in the high teens rather than the mid to late 20s we have had to date. The remainder of the afternoon included motoring 250 miles across the rolling cornfields of Iowa. It really is pretty farmland with strips of terraced fields including some large wind turbines - immense 3-bladed affairs, scattered across the fields and miles of highway.

Finally Home

... for physical baggage inspection by the TSA. One bag was torn, souvenirs were ruined, make-up was left wide open. I don't mind the fact that the TSA needs to do these checks for our safety, but they should really take a little more care when searching. I was really upset to see my playbill from Phantom was bent and boxes were torn.

I will be posting again once my mood improves a bit. I'm just very glad to be home.
