Today we cycled from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a city that is located on the Mediterranean coast. It was difficult to leave Girona this morning as we thoroughly enjoyed our accommodation, food and city atmosphere last night. We rode along the canal through the city and continued on the El Carrilet cycle path. We passed farms of pears, quinoa and corn; forests of maple, pine ...

We spent yesterday just relaxing by the beach and pool. It is a total chill out spot. The boys hired a paddle boat and paddled their way through the water. The sand is a bit coarse. It's not as fine as ours in Aus. I'm over it being on the RV floor though.
We have had two nights of really big lighting storms that hit in the early evening. The one last night was a real light show. It was amazing to watch from the beach.
We have been eating out because it is so cheap here. I ...

... in a group of old houses and court yards, the museum was great. Picasso until he was 15 was also great. After that, my overall impression remains unchanged. (Not my cup of tea!) Hopped back on the bus- only way to get around in the heat and the distances involved. Hopped off again at the La Sagrada Familia. "Gaudi's masterpiece" certainly lived up to its name - what an amazing cathedral and it is not even finished after over 100 years. Soaring roof, forest-like interior, ...

... degrees. At dinner time, decided to go out for dinner. The whole beach side suburb of El Masnou had seen better days, lots of businesses closed down. Finally found a tapas bar that was open, who told us most places do not open until 8.30. Too late for us, so back to camp after eating. Rob and Rob went on for paella. Noisy before we finally got to ...

... through spectacular mountain scenery of the Midi-Pyrenees, almost better than Andorra itself. Drove past Monserrat (jagged mountain), saved for another day. Arrived at the outskirts of Barcelona, at the camp site at El Masnou. Facing the Mediterranean Sea, but you had to hike up the road and find a subway under the railway line to get to the sand! Not an inspirational camp, but city camps never are. Dusty, noisy, ants, and neighbours very close. A much later day than we had ...
