Entering from the East via the Togwotee Pass the view of the Tetons is stunning. Arising up from the prairie floorColdest 2 mornings of the trip. Hit 29degrees in Jackson! Had to refill the propane tank already. We had a great stay at the Virginian Campground, especially the use of the Hot Tub following an 8 mile day of hiking and walking. ... this was going to be a long morning. As it progressed it got bumpier and bumpier. Twice I got into terrible sinking air and had to add full power to stop the descent after losing 1000 feet of altitude. Arriving at Hailey the winds were 60 to 90 degrees across he runway at 12 gusting to 20 knots. The road became narrower and the twists and turns became tighter and there was no civilization for the first 50 miles. After an evening of lighting and thunder we started out Monday with a call from the mechanic to fix the broken leaf spring on the trailer. $220 dollars later the job was finished. I'm so glad that it didn't happen out in the desert on the way to Twin Falls.
