In national forests and national recreation areas you are generally allowed to set up camp just about anywhere that you want free of charge. Our first stop was to the Ranger Station to ask for a recommendation. ... and Amy waded out to where we could float, lay back, and floated! It was very cool. Sophie said she would go back to float again sometime, but for the rest of us it was a once in a lifetime experience (and David had done it when he was 10), but definitely worth doing. It requires walking and wading through millions of brine gnats and brine shrimp, but if you can ignore that for a few minutes it's a cool experience. Definitely not a place ...
