... added that looked more like cinnamon. Being a foodie town had expected to find a wine store and a gourmet deli nope Walmart was the best we could do and although they sell wine (Walmart Brand) and good old Australian Yellow Tail you can't buy it til 11am it was 10:53 when we hit the checkout. ... to see the swamp people down in the bayou but gave me thoughts of the movie Deliverance so we gave that idea a miss. Have become vertical and headed to the Pamplona Tapas Bar. Great food, olives charcuterie, escargot foie gras , mushrooms and a bottle of Rosè, that's just for starters..... Finishing with bean soup then Apple bread pudding and home made ice cream, brandy and sherry. As Monty Python said " just a little morsel more..." Horizontal again.... ...

... spoke English with a French accent. Amazing and so close to red neck Memphis. The who development of both the languages is quite interesting and linguists would describe it as Pidgin. ( no not pigeon as in the bird) but a blend of French ( the colonial one not modern French ) and various African Languages. It is like French widely spoken in the South. Talking of roads traffic and speed limits... For most of the trip the go slow lane for trucks has been 70 with the exception ...

Day 2 of 49 (Sep 8) found us still at Lake Conroe with absolutely nothing eventful to recount. We slept late, worked our puzzles, did a little shopping, grilled dinner and later Hannah took us for a walk. All in all, it was a quiet, relaxing day and the evening cooled off so sitting outside for a while was pleasant.

... Factory (oldest in America) too early for their tour, so I checked out a few things, bought a couple things, and then we headed back home.
The next day, we took a drive over to the Tabasco plant and store on Avery Island - we did the tour just a couple of years ago, so I just stopped into the store to pick up a few things.
Heading to N'awlins on Thursday, and Keri will fly in on Wednesday for a long weekend.
