After driving up from Lake City, we spent a great weekend with Jamie and Kristen. They made a turkey dinner for us with all the trimmings and we relaxed at their house on Saturday. On Sunday we drove out to the Chickamauga Battlefield National Park, watched a video and toured the park. Fun stop at the Sears Shoe Store (holy lots of shoes) then made our way home for turkey leftovers and margaritas. Early departure tomorrow am. We'll have to save "Captain Ron" for next ...

... literally splitting apart and this is a big deal geographically speaking. It is breathtakingly beautiful. The fall colors were past their prime but still glorious. There were so many cute lake homes and cabins along this pass, many of which have been there for years and years. The whole area is quite rich in history.

... We are looking forward to this part of the trip because it is so very beautiful.

Chattanooga is a fun city but very small. Two days was more than enough to see the downtown area and sample some of the restaurants. But, one could stay many days just traveling all of the trails and bike paths. We look forward to seeing Chattanooga again when we return.

... River. This barge has run over and killed at least 4 people. We were glad it was going up river while we were going down river. The lock down was smooth but the turbulence leaving the dam was pretty scary. But, we made it and the rest was smooth cruising.
