We got a quick breakfast this morning and made a beeline for the gangway to checkout La Paz. Mom's knee is bothering her so she opted out of the shore trip today. It was a short day made even shorter by another hour because of a last minute change in the ship itinerary. We docked at 8am but have to be back on board by 12:30pm and it takes 40 minutes by shuttle bus to get to the town. That doesn't leave much time to do anything but I want to ...

Hola from north of Ensenada de Los Muertos.

We got up early this morning and headed out. We had the anchor up and we were moving by 0645. This was partly because the spot where we ended up wasn't a destination of any sort and partly because it was still a bit rolly. Today we were meant to be diving with seals which if its anything like the Galapagos should be awesome. The first dive we went around the southern point of the island, the water was soo cold, the visibility ...

... 8220;You looking for a bribe, a mordita?” Of course, no reply with two of us present (one as witness). His face tells us we have the psychological upper hand and with a resigned look he waves us on. I’m sorry, we are not in the business of subsidizing poorly paid cops with outrageous bribes because the government of a country can or will not pay decent salaries. Paying bribes just exacerbates the problem and ultimately helps no one. We have only ever once paid a bribe in ...

... or is it a mating display, no one is quite sure.
As we tacked over to our destination ,Merja was at the helm for the first time in her life and was a born natural, feeling the wind and keeping on course.Everyone was chilled now and we all quietly sat on various parts of the deck, meditatively.
Balandra. We landed here the first time 5 years ago and it's still one of my favourites in the sea.We all kayaked around the lagoon and walked up the ...
