... to see them again. We met their puppy dogs; Diane's cute 15 year old, long haired, grey doggy and Adam's English mastiff. It was the biggest dog that I have ever seen. It's enormous. From miniature Cuppy in the morning, to giant Mastiff in the evening. It wagged its tail, which hit me and it actually hurt! It also sat on my foot and I struggled to pull it out from under its butt! Thankfully, he was a big softie, but its head was big enough ...

... that brief time, the Fort housed the British, Virginia and Pennsylvania Regiments as well as Royal Americans and Native American encampments. The Fort also had a Blacksmith shop, clay bake ovens, a hospital complex, smokehouse and sawmill. There were the usual armaments, that included a six-pound field cannon, a five and a half inch Howitzer along with well appointed stores of ammunition. Short lived, but vitally important. ... out computers etc. At least we didn't have to wait in the very long line for regular security. It was still quite a walk to the gate. ... and we were excited to find out more.

When we arrived it was through the back door. No standing in long queues with all the kids for us. Oh No. To the office suite where John signed us in and we met our guide for the next couple of hours, Stephanie. Stephanie showed us to a little golf buggy, we jumped in and off we sped. Well not quite sped but we went off at golf buggy pace!

The park was quite busy as it is school holidays here and Stephanie carefully picked ...

... after the beautiful rhino we met at the zoo. Very fitting really.

John & Maryline have been absolutely fabulous hosts. They have welcomed us into their home, fed us, entertained us and all in all made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. We have been bowled over by their kindness. We hope one day they will come to England and let us return their wonderful hospitality (and we are dying to get John to Go Ape).

Thank you John & Maryline - Cheers!
