... gut! Derek had two bratwurst, Munich and Rattlesnake/Rabbit with spaetzle, Larry had a bratwurst with potato salad and I had a turkey reuben with coleslaw and spaetzle. We got home about 4:00. It was great to be home but the unpacking, pile of mail and newspapers, 21 phone messages and 284 emails kept us busy for a while. It is great to be home!

You may have noticed the two flags for the picture for this blog. The red and white one is the flag of Austria and the blue and white one is the Bavarian flag which is southern Germany where Munich is located.

Erin had to get up at 4:30 this morning to catch her flight to Washington DC. She took a luxury taxi to the airport, a Lincoln Town Car. We slept in until 8:00 and then got up and did our last packing and chores ...

... I love, called "Sweetie-Licious Pies", written by a gal who has a 50's-style pie/lunch diner not far from Grand Rapids; plus a few other small odds and ends.

Then it was on to the local Walmart parking lot, where we've spent many a night en route to our various destinations. The next morning, it was on to Virginia, which begins with my next post.

Left Tomah Wisconsin early this morning knowing we had another long day of driving. Goal was to get home around 8:00 PM and we made it right on the dot! It felt good to walk into the house. It did not feel like we had been gone for 40 days! Speedometer says we traveled 10,000 miles! WOW! We sure saw many, many wonderful sights. Makes us so appreciative of this great country ...
