... and helpful, if sometimes slightly bemused at a woman travelling alone, but I constantly had people making sure I was ok, helping me with my bags, telling me when the meal guy came through the train so I could order dinner, and working out when my train would get in to my station. Weihnachten einmal anders
... 3er kombo auf den groessten, faustgrossen granitstein. den fand ich gerade angemessen fuer mein vorhaben etwaige aggressive hunde zu verscheuchen. so bewaffnet und stark schwitzend machte ich mich also auf den nach hause weg. der schweiss war so zu 70% auf die herrschende hohe temperatur und zu 30% auf meine anspannung zurueckzufueren. naja, vielleicht sollte ich dem alk auch noch ein paar prozente einraeumen - egal.
die gassen waren fast menschenleer - keine soziele ...
Langkawi to Cochin
... wine – he took us to a very interesting “shop” called the foreigners liquor store, complete with grills to see inside store. We asked for wine and they showed us the only wine available – an Indian Sauvignon Blanc – well you probably know what we did. We will wait for other opportunities to try the local delicacies.

Change in Plans
... out I've developed a 'seroma' - a collection of
fluid - around my left hip and lower back and he recommended that I
have it drained. I'm going back into the hospital for a few days to
have the procedure done. Dr. Khaleel says I'll have to stay a minimum of
four days while it drains and recovery afterwards will be a week to
ten days before I can travel. So it looks like my plans to head for

Exploring Kochi!
... which didn't quite turn out as well as the example pot that we saw first.
Really a few sleepy days in Kochi, preparing ourselves for Madurai which was our next stop, and where I'm writing this. Got to use a sleeper train for the first time which was excellent, really tidy little bunks, like some school trip.
Madurai has been a lot madder, but we'll write about that in our next entry
