... guide and takes us over Horsethief Lake to several views of Rushmore (including the parking lot), on to the Crazy Horse carving, a herd of buffalo & home. Bob, whose fear of heights doesn't seem to be a factor, up front & Dianne in back for the trip of a lifetime! Lots of great photos & memories. Now how will we follow that up in the afternoon.

Today we woke up in Minnesota and it was cold! The kids were surprised by how cold it was compared to how nice it was when we went to bed. We gased up and headed toward Blue Earth Minnesota to see the Jolly Green Giant. He did not disappoint. ... even the red cliffs, Blackhills and rushing Yellowstone River became monotonous. We were very glad to get to Mt Rushmore. Mt Rushmore embodies the old, "can do and to hell with the obstacles" attitude of an earlier USA . This is a great approAch to Mount Rushmore . . . You get little glimpses here and there to pique you interest.

Mount Rushmore is pretty amazing.

From there a very scenic drive through gold rush towns. Deadwood is there Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried. Sturgis is no big deal . . . But when the rally is on I bet it is surreal.
