... through long miles of rolling bends. As we started to climb the switchbacks towards the pass, I looked up and could see a tiny figure on the mountain wearing a red jacket.

“There might be somewhere to take a special photo up there,” I said.
“Hope so,” came the response, “this is spectacular!”

... was a museum volunteer and veteran of the Vietnam War. He was standing near a F-100 "Super Saber" airplane built by North America. He told us how he flew a plane like this in the Vietnam War and was shot down twice but managed to escape capture by running and diving into a rescue helicopter. Wow, the stories he could tell! We returned home with a deeper appreciation of the military which protects our country and the freedom we sometimes take for ...

Just on our way out of devils tower in the meadows there are tons of prairie dogs and we all got a very close look at them.

We had a late start today...headed off about 10.00am for Mt Rushmore. We could see the heads of Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Jefferson ..before you got to the gates... We got into the park and they have a museum, theatre, bookshop and souvenirs, amphitheatre, walks ..and great photo opportunities of the presidents heads. They are not as big as you imagine ...but George Washingtons nose is 21 feet and eyes are 11 feet each! We watched an Indian dancer ..t. Buffalo ..6th ...

... from Trevor and Kay - they had problems with their phone and had just got our message as they left this morning. We will try again in another town.

PT has arrived and they are riding towards Milwaukee so we might get a rendezvous on the way.

Bought our HD Chaps today so they will get an airing tomorrow - more bits and pieces to pack as we have bought things all day - you just can't help yourself.
