... The roads through the highlands were narrow and windy which reminded me of some roads in New Zealand.

The Scottish people were so lovely throughout the trip, and being called lass and saying I instead of yes made them awesome in my books.

Our day trips consisted of a road trip out to the west coast of the highlands to a town called Mallaig and another heading north to Loch Ness and and Inverness.

... narrower and steeper as we make our way towards the waterfall. We are pretty high now and can see the river way down in the valley below. Finally we reach a high point and can hear the gushing water - we must be close! And suddenly there it is, a beautiful mass of gushing white...wow!

To see the falls in all their glory it is necessary to descend a very steep path which we take very slowly and carefully. We guess that this is the bit the warnings ...

... There was not a lot of choice for lunch and we all opted for the Fish & Chips. Sadly to say, they were some of the worst we have ever tasted and the wee Scottish lady serving them was very rude!
