On Monday morning we closed our laptops. The weeks of researching farms and distilleries were soon to come into practice as we hit the road for Dixie, Georgia to find Thompson's farm, specialising in pigs and most importantly: bacon. ... a motel and café, where we holed up for the next three days. The kids loved it; swimming and TV. Everyone was very friendly there and really helped us. So we were excited to come back and see Tifton. We stayed at the KOA in Tifton. They have a lot more gnats now than I remember. Also, the town has grown into a megalopolis. Ah, the wheels of progress.

Unfortunately we did not get back into Savannah on Thursday as it rained and rained all day.

We are now heading towards Louisiana as we missed New Orleans back in February because of severe storms. Our next stop was supposed to be Tallahassee but everywhere was fully booked, apparently because it's the 'Big Game - college football.

We managed to find a space at Sugar ...
