    ... in Dixon at 4:30 and I decided to continue onto Freeport IL for the night and ________ at a nice place across the street from the West End Motel. Before ________( can't mention) Dave Banker needed one more shirt for the trip and there was a Good Will a 1/2 block from the Motel.     ... to see Balancing Rock and Devils Doorway. The entire hike up and back down are rocks laid in place to make steps. Once on top....after a lot of steps...you walk along the top and have the most amazing views. Devils gate was the best. The rocks are just balancing on top of each other.     ... It was tough to see the destruction but thank God no one was hurt and Kathy and Dozer dodged the tornado.

    We finished our visit with Kathy and Dozer with dinner in Byron. Then Sheila and I headed back to Iowa City.

    Unfortunately we have been getting real good at not taking any pictures. This is an area for much improvement.

    ... meal were brought to the table in separate serving bowls & we served ourselves, but there was little emphasis on being thankful. It was a good and enjoyable special meal though.     ... lacking excitement. Prior to my exit onto I-39 I came upon a pickup truck with a very excited sandy colored lab, her head held over the edge of the truck bed, high in the breeze.
