        • Let me explain something first. Living in the wet tropics gives you a false impression as to how cold is cold . We rarely feel anything below 15 degrees and whinge when it gets to that temperature. Well where we are now it goes down to 1 degrees and is battling to rise to 15.         We spent the night at the Pavilion Hotel which is between downtown Christchurch and the airport.
