While listening to my most favorite song at the moment (Turtle, by Alana Davis), I've realized my trip has BEGUN!!!! It wasn't real until now. I'm sitting at my seat on my way to JFK airport, waiting for my dinner, and I don't really have much to say except that my excitement is finally here. No worrying, no doubting, just excitement. Yvette Bryant, the SVP of HR in the Americas was our second celebrity encounter of the day. She told us a bit about what she does and it was fascinating to hear about the difference in managing North America and South America. Given that our last stop was Brazil, our meeting with her just drove everything home for us.

... girl anti-nausea meds and saved the day! Teddy even earned his wings on the flight for his act of service toward another. At the Atlanta airport, Stephanie and I ran right for Panda Express, or "Pandarama" according to Stephanie. It was FANTASTIC! But that was not even the best part of this leg of the trip. The most influential moment was when a little boy popped his head over the back of his seat on the plane and said, "Hola!" He was so excited to see Cathy and I wave back ...

... It was also terribly dark so photography at such a distance was a disappointment. I did manage to get some photos afterward of some of the amazing costumes. So much creativity. The woman who won had the most phenomenal dress…a huge map of middle earth embroidered and then the front layers of book pages and when she lifted the crinoline it reveled her bloomers with the fires of Mordor! So beautiful and so thoughtful. She deserved the win. ...
