On my flight to LA so I thought I would start my Spartan Malibu blog. I'll arrive in LA at noon then it's an hour car ride to Malibu. I'll settle in, check into the hotel and get a lay of the land. I still need to buy some stuff for the race but wanted to wait until I got to LA. Anyway, the way the race is designed we have no idea what to expect as far as obstacles or distance. the website says ...

More later after the researchers lunch and perhaps when I am back at the house. I'd say its time to pack, but I have been far too organised and have finished the majority of my packing. I even have a list of the things that I need to finish / sort before I leave! Who is this organised person and what has she done with Jo?

We talked for a while and the girls entertained us, then off to bed with them and we broke out the dominos. Rich and Erica had never played before, so it was fun teaching them the game. We left around 11:00 to go back to the campground after a very busy day. No problem falling asleep tonight!

... locking gate and not venture into town to explore. It was surprising how such a beautiful, prosperous looking place on the water can be struggling so much economically. Definitely reminds one of the great city of Detroit, and all its problems.

... needed time to get used to it. We already had our plan in place. We would take the drive in two hour shifts stopping to change so we could get out, stretch and refresh. I was on duty first because a) I’m a much better aggressive driver than Chris when I need to be and b) I can’t navigate so we would have driven in circles trying to get out of Chicago.

It took a bit of stuffing around to get the car but we got it. FINALLY….we’re ...
