... a tree trunk bridge & going through the bamboo forest, but turned back just before the fright fork that would have got me to other swimming holes.
Finally back on route, found the falls but the river was so swollen after recent rains I was dubious about going into the main flow & getting washed down to the lower pool from which there was no way out except down. Went in at the smaller side falls which were more sedate.
... figured it was a fuel issue. Now, a few days later, we relize the problem was not Wesley but bad fuel. White smoke, which we were blowing, is a sign of too much water in the fuel. Of course we had to get the bad Diesel right before going over the Moutain of Death! Luckily Wesley is running fine now.
That night we parked in the middle of a pineapple field own buy yours truly, Del Monte. I never thought we would be enjoying Del Monte for it's beautiful sunset's!
Just a quick blog to keep you up to date
Had to change plans as there was no space at Sirena Ranger Station. Margarita was able to organise alternative route into Corcovado
Got Marvi bus to Sierpe. Stayed in good cabinas and had excellent meal in their restaurant
Hey Update. I'm currently in Uvita Costa Rica at a place called Cascada Verde. This place is pretty awesome in the jungle with a crazy view looking out to the ocean. The people are all so different, each one is so unique. There is this lady from Germany GashaNe who quit her Lawyer job and came here to volunteer and do yoga... she's like 50 and has this funny broken English. I find my self laughing not only at her but with her constantly ...
Uvita, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica carrera2uWed. speical school pics and hot springs Hola everybody...I'm in the homestretch and I'm going to miss my group and the kids at the Special School. This has been another tremendous time...very different from Ayacucho which was very, very special but just as powerful and enjoyable. I think this time the work with the kids seemed more substantive and the community we created here at the house was tight. Chuck & I are the only 2 weekers this time as ...
San Carlos, Costa Rica splunk... courtyard that separates 2 wings of the home. Off to bed, more tomorrow. Sunday, March 4 Well, surprisingly slept like a baby last night and since there is no drinking while in San Carlos that made the almost certain middle of the night pee unessessary...and a good thing since I feel like Green Acres having to climb the telephone pole to make a call every time I have to get down from the bunk bed. Started today with our 7am breakfast and started to get to know ...
ENGLISH: The immigration procedure in Costa Rica is a mess. It cost me some time to find the offices and to do them in order. After a while, about 2 hours, all turned out well and the immigration officials carried themselves in the most perfect standard. They checked nothing in our vehicle, only a quick look of the content and a pair of questions. Later the official suggested us a beach where to camp. After our last control of our papers ...
Costa Rica, Costa Rica viajandoOjochal is a teeny little town, not even in the Lonely Panic if you can believe it. It has all the necessary amenities including a French baker man, an internet cafe, and a grocery store. It doesn´t have many luxuries such as telephone service, power 100% of the time, and paved roads. Jen and Lee Ann Lee bought a house here and it is appropriately named La Escapada. Woody and Heather and our favorite Kiwi settled in for a much needed week of ...
